Kelsey Brunner, Downtown Addict, here!

From a young age and all the way through my college years, I dreamt of living in a big city. Living in a modern, single girl apartment and walking to work; happy hours; local coffee shops… You know, the city life you see on the movies! Little did I know this city living dream of mine would become a reality so close to home. I’m living my big city dream right here in Downtown Kenosha, and I couldn’t be happier about it. It’s the best of both worlds. I get to experience city living, without leaving the comfort of my hometown — it’s like my own little version of the big city.

I have a quirky apartment above a downtown business, with a killer view of the lake, and only a two minute walk from work!

Every day I get to enjoy the different perks of downtown. My favorite mornings start with a bike ride through downtown and along Lake Michigan — there is no better way to start a day than with the bright smiles and chipper “good mornings!” from fellow bikers and runners.

On beautiful summer days, my co-workers and I sometime take a quick break from the office to walk down to the The Coffee Pot, and swing by Peanut Butter & Jam for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Don’t think I’ve forgotten about happy hour! That one is very much a reality. There is no better place to have girls night than Downtown — If it involves a big glass of wine and Sazzy B’s Calamari, you can count me in!
